Macroscopic Automata
I haven’t done much non-commercial design/illustration for a good few months now so I figured it was time to break out of that cycle. I spent a few hours in Photoshop the other day with the intent on creating something… I wasn’t sure what, but after playing around and doing some painting this piece just kind of appeared. I guess it could be a look at some string of genetically altered human embryos. That’s what I see anyway… I think I need to get out more.

Animator/Motion Graphics Designer
My Pet Skeleton Productions is an elite collective of artists, designers, animators and developers that routinely executes projects for some of the biggest studios and corporations in the world. We are as well versed in the darker side of things as we are the light and switch between the two at the drop of a dilapidated fedora. We are currently expanding and are looking for an extremely dedicated and talented Animator/Motion Graphics designer to create stunning motion imagery for projects across the board, ranging from film/broadcast to web/interactive applications and beyond. We have a variety of in-house and freelance positions available.
Ideal Skillset:
- High level of skill & proficiency in:
- 3dStudioMAX or equivalent 3d software
- MAXscript or eqivalent 3d scripting language
- Adobe Photoshop CS3
- Adobe After Effects CS3
- Adobe Illustrator CS3
- zBrush or equivalent software
- Rendering theory/technical experience (network/resource management)
- Compression/Optimization for Broadcast and web.
- Knowledge of Combustion and Avid Editing Suite are definite pluses
Some expectations of our ideal candidate:
- Conceptualizing and translating ideas with creative and art directors into reality, quickly and efficiently.
- Creating storyboards and mockups that are concise, to the point and professional in short amounts of time. Flawless and smooth transition from concept to reality should give you a high.
- Must pay extreme attention to detail.
- Knowledgeable in many different styles of design and animation. Must be able to consistently create/animate stylized and photo-realistic motion imagery.
- Independent, forward-thinking, boundary pushing.
- Desire to expand their knowledge into every possible facet of the medium.

- Photoshop cs3

- Proficiency in after effects is a definite plus!

Aural Candy
It’s usually a 24/7 rave at my desk and I frequently have people saying they like what i’m playing. So i’m going to start recommending some of my favourite audibles for you to check out and hopefully enjoy. I’ve been following KiloWatts over at hybridized.org for a few years now and am constantly impressed by the music and mixes he decides to release (Most of his music is really glitchy-ambient breakbeats/idm with really good melodies strewn about). This latest offering with the vocalist known as “Vanek” is absolutely superb, marrying glitchy but melodic idm with some very soft, sad guitars and vocals. A very refreshing beverage indeed.

Well, I can finally officially announce the latest film that I co-directed with the very gifted and accomplished Rodrigo Gudino of Rue Moruge Magazine. We have bound our short with the name THE FACTS IN THE CASE OF MISTER HOLLOW, the narrative of our film is locked inside the details of a single photograph… and yes, there is a “Johnny Hollow” connection…
A single image that tells an entire story, THE FACTS IN THE CASE OF MISTER HOLLOW is the groundbreaking new film by Rue Morgue founding editor Rodrigo Gudiño (The Demonology of Desire, The Eyes of Edward James) and award-winning visual artist Vincent Marcone (MyPetSkeleton.com, Johnny Hollow). The visually stunning film centers on an unusual photograph dating back to the 1930s. An investigation of its particulars reveals a tapestry of secrets hidden in the details, and a tale of kidnapping and murder captured in a haunting moment.
